Telecommunication Equipment Distribution Program

The Deaf & Hard of Hearing Advocacy Resource Center distributes FREE CapTel phones, Amplified telephones, TTYs, Phone Signalers, and Ameriphone Q-90s to all qualified applicants with certified hearing/speech loss
who are limited in the use of a regular telephone.

CapTel (Captioned Telephone) – the latest in VCO Technology is a telephone that allows one to listen to the other person and at the same time read typed word-for-word captions of everything the other person is saying. Unlike conversational relay calls showing captions between two parties, CapTel shows captions from only one party, i.e., the person who is being called.
